My neighbor Dwayne Picket and his mother Margaret asked that I take a few formal portraits for their website, Pickett Educational Resources. Dwayne is a professional archaeologist and Margaret is a former teacher who spent 20 years working in museum education in Virginia’s historic triangle–Jamestown, Williamsburg and Yorktown. The Mother-Son team helps to bring history alive in the classroom and has also written a book together called The European Struggle to settle North America: Colonizing Attempts by England, France and Spain, 1521-1608. Dwayne also has developed several programs to teach the principals of archaeology and historical research for both children and adults including the popular Camp Dig-It! program.
